DMCA Notice
Some MLSes require their participants to display a DMCA (The Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice on their websites. If you need a DMCA copy for your website and your MLS has not provided exact verbiage for you to use, you can use one below. Make sure to replace {YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS} with your actual email address or the email of your MLS's DMCA compliance officer to be in compliance.
For more information on DMCA see:
- Participant's Rights, Section 16: Digital Millennium Copyright Act, Safe Harbor (by NAR)
- The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (by U.S. Copyright Office)
- Your MLS's specific requirements regarding their DMCA notice. Note that if your MLS requires such a notice and you do not have one or your verbiage does not match their expectations, you are risking having your data feed access revoked.
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (the “DMCA”) provides recourse for copyright owners who believe that material appearing on the Internet infringes their rights under U.S. copyright law. If you believe in good faith that any content or material made available in connection with our website or services infringes your copyright, you (or your agent) may send us a notice requesting that the content or material be removed, or access to it blocked. Notices must be sent in writing by email to {YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS} .
