Conversion Tracking in Blvd Themes

When using the Blvd framework it's very easy to setup conversion tracking for your website. Currently there are 3 pre-built for all Blvd themes; Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics (GA), Google Adwords (now known as Google Ads) and Facebook Pixel.

Recommended Tracking Method

We highly recommend using Google Tag Manager for all of your tracking because of it's ease of use and versatility.

Google Tag Manager (GTM) allows you to manage all tracking scripts from a single location within their easy to use interface. When using GTM you'll only need to setup the GTM ID in theme options on your website. Then all tracking code setup will happen within the GTM interface. The options are limitless on what you can track with GTM. We send all user conversion events to GTM so that you can broadcast those events to whatever tracking tool you choose to setup within the GTM interface.

Loading Google Tag Manager

Loading Google Tag Manager on your website is easy with a Blvd theme. You will not need to add any tracking Javascript to your website since the Blvd theme will handle that for you. Instead, simply follow the steps below (or watch the video above)...

  1. Create your Google Tag Manager account and GTM container. Then copy your container ID.
  2. Login to the admin dashboard of your website.
  3. Navigate to Appearance > Theme Options > Site Tracking > Global Tracking
  4. Choose Google Tag Manager from the Google Tracking dropdown menu.
  5. Enter your Google Tag Manager Container ID in the corresponding field.
  6. Save Changes

That's all there is to setting up Google Tag Manager (GTM) on your site. Adding the GTM ID and saving your settings will load all required GTM scripts on your site. Then you'll need to finish the setup within Tag Manager. We have a complete guide to the standard settings you'll need for your GTM container in the video above. Google Analytics / Google Adwords

If you don't want to use Google Tag Manger and would rather setup Google Analytics or Adwords (now called Google Ads) you're welcome to do that instead. You will not need to add any tracking scripts or plugins to your website as the Blvd theme will handle all of that for you automatically. You'll just need to follow these steps...

  1. Create your Analytics account and get your Analytics ID.
  2. Login to the admin dashboard of your website.
  3. Navigate to Appearance > Theme Options > Site Tracking > Global Tracking
  4. Choose Google Analytics from the Google Tracking dropdown menu.
  5. Enter your Google Analytics ID in the corresponding field.
  6. Save Changes
